Sion, Switzerland – It was a cool and thrilling weekend in Sion, Switzerland, where the Alaïa Open Winter Cup 2023 took place. We’re not talking about regular surfing; it’s wave pool surfing, and it’s in the middle of a snowy landscape!

Jade Magnien surfed like a champ and won the Women’s division, showing us her awesome skills. In the Men’s category, Franklin Serpa Ferreira Correia nailed it and took home the trophy. For the Junior Boys, Antoine Habashi was the star, and in the Junior Girls category, Fabiana Klein emerged as the champ.

Franklin, Antoine and Fabiana, the event winners, also secured their titles as Swiss Wavepool Champions, alongside defending champion Rachel Bonhote-Mead.

The Alaïa Open Winter Cup also marked the end of the Edelweiss Surf Tour. On November 4th and 5th, despite the cold, everyone rode the waves in the Alaïa Bay wavepool. It was quite a sight to see the snow and surf come together in a unique way.

A big thanks to everyone who joined and competed. The Alaïa Open Winter Cup 2023 was something to remember. Congrats to the winners and all the surfers for making it a cool weekend in Sion, Switzerland! 🏄‍♂️🌊❄️
